Playback best practice
- Define the purpose of the playback in advance
- Tell, show, and tell
- Tell your audience what you plan on covering during the playback, show them the functionality covered in the playback, and then tell them what you showed (recap the playback)
- Have a defined “leader” of the playback, preferably the process owner
- Make sure that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and the playback lead knows his / her responsibilities
- Roles and handoffs should be clearly defined within the playback
- Set expectations for the playback ahead of time
- Know your audience
- Categorize and prioritize the feedback
- Screenshots set the stage
- Plan the follow up
- Multiple playbacks are okay
- Have a list of the open items
